Not So Bleak After All!

bleak-cool-words

When you think of wintertime in Alaska, what comes to mind?

Extreme coldness probably tops the list. You may also assume that such harsh temperatures would not be conducive to outside activities, but that’s not true.

Even though Alaskan winters can see some of the coldest temperatures in the country, the weather is usually not as bleak (see definition and hear pronunciation below) as one might guess.

Alaskan winters are actually a perfect time to participate in numerous outdoor winter activities, including skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding and viewing of the astronomical phenomenon known as the northern lights. (To see a video of the northern lights, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Dz1U9P0i-I)

If you are interested in such outdoor activities, wintertime is a perfect time to visit Alaska!
