Most rock bands rise in popularity and then fade as new ones enter the music scene.
One band whose music continues to endure is The Beatles. Formed in Liverpool, England, in 1960, the band is often regarded as the most influential rock group of the era.
The band’s enormous popularity led to “Beatlemania.” This term describes the fans’ adulation (see definition and hear pronunciation below) of the group’s music and its members, George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.
Today, half a century later, this band’s music is still being played!
