Tall buildings and busy streets are commonly found in urban areas, but each city is likely to have something that makes it distinct.

For example, the red telephone box has long been ubiquitous (see definition and hear pronunciation below) within the city of London.

Originally developed in 1920, the red telephone box was designed by the architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott as a secure location for placing a telephone call.

These days, however, the boxes have become a relic of the past.
