Cookouts and fireworks may be the first things that come to mind when you think of July 4th.
But there’s a lot more to this popular summer holiday.
July 4th marks the date that the Declaration of Independence was adopted and our original American colonies broke free from Great Britain.
For this reason, July 4th is a great opportunity for many Americans to demonstrate their ardent (see definition and hear pronunciation below) patriotism.
So, get out your red, white and blue—and say, “Happy Birthday, America!”
