For many people, it would be Benjamin Franklin.

He is famous for helping to draft the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.

Franklin was also highly regarded as an inventor, scientist and author.

Many of Franklin’s astute (see definition and hear pronunciation below) observations have become some of the most widely recognized quotations.

For example, Franklin is the one who said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

Truer words were never spoken!
