Can You Find This Dissembled Animal?

Camouflage is a unique skill that allows animals to blend in with their surrounding environments.

This highly effective survival mechanism allows an animal to change the color and/or shape of its body.

Once camouflaged, an animal can disguise itself to look like something entirely different.

For example, the stick insect can dissemble (see definition and hear pronunciation below) itself to look like the twigs and branches that surround it.

So, be careful the next time you go to pick up something that looks like a twig. If it’s actually a stick insect, it may just fly away!

Cool word question of the day: Can you think of any animals that can dissemble themselves?
