Lots of people go to gyms or health clubs to stay in shape.

They might work out on exercise machines, such as treadmills, or take a spin class.

These activities not only help keep your heart strong but also burn calories.

But guess what: You can also burn calories by staying active around your home.

Taking care of your yard and doing household chores are great ways to work up a sweat.

If you’re really ambitious, you can even hew (see definition and hear pronunciation below) some wood.

For a 150-pound person, chopping wood burns nearly 300 calories an hour!
