During his time as the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt fought fiercely against Wall Street financiers and the captains of American industry to ensure that the public was not exploited.
In fact, Roosevelt proved himself to be a redoubtable (see definition and hear pronunciation below) force when he took on some of the powerful individuals who controlled a disproportionate share of the country’s business.
As Roosevelt once said, “Knowing what’s right doesn’t mean much unless you do what’s right.”
