A Great Place to Rove!

When it comes to hiking, the Appalachian Trail is one of the most famous routes you can take.

More than 2,000 miles long, this trail passes through 14 states in the eastern United States.

Those who hike the entire trail are known as “thru-hikers.” The trip takes about six months to complete.

Even though hikers who set out on the trail definitely have a destination in mind, it is also a magnificent place to simply rove (see definition and hear pronunciation below) and take in the beautiful scenery.
