If you’re afraid of the dark, you’re not alone.

As the fourth most common phobia in the US, fear of darkness affects about 10% of the population.

Do you ever feel frightened if you’re outside and the sky is pitch black? Or what if it’s the middle of the night and you’re making your way down a long, dark hallway in your home?

No matter where you are, the darkness may leave you feeling tremulous (see definition and hear pronunciation below).

Just hope that no one scares you even more by shouting, “Boo!”
