How many movies and TV series can you name that feature vampires? There are plenty!
And if you’re out on Halloween night, chances are good that you’ll see lots of trick-or-treaters dressed in vampire costumes.
How did vampires become such a fixture in popular culture? Much of their popularity dates back to 1897.
That’s the year the venerable (see definition and hear pronunciation below) vampire novel Dracula was published by the Irish writer Bram Stoker.
Since then, you might say that vampires have come into their own!
