When we go shopping for new clothes, we’re likely to hit the local mall. But if you wanted a piece of clothing made especially for you, it can’t be found in a shopping mall.

For hundreds of years, tailors have cut cloth and measured it to fit exactly to the wearer’s body, a tradition that has become increasingly replaced by faster production methods.

Still, the pinnacle of bespoke (see definition and hear pronunciation below) clothing remains in London, on Savile Row.

If you want a tailor to make your clothes, however, just be prepared to spend a lot of money.

A men’s suit can easily cost a couple thousand dollars. And a women’s designer gown can cost even more!
