Manifold Sounds Make Beautiful Music!

manifold-cool-vocabulary-words

If you like classical music, then you probably enjoy the magnificent sounds of an orchestra.

Orchestras first came into being way back in the 18th century. Over the years, they have grown in size. Most contemporary orchestras have 40 to 100 or more instruments.

Orchestras have four main sections: The string section has such instruments as cellos and violins; the woodwind section includes flutes and oboes; the brass section has horns and trumpets; and the percussion section includes drums and cymbals. A piano is also often played in an orchestra.

The conductor, of course, coordinates the manifold (see definition and hear pronunciation below) instruments so that the end result is beautiful music!

Cool word question of the day: If you were a conductor, how would you coordinate the manifold instruments?

Manifold: Numerous and varied; using similar devices at the same time.
