Traveling to a foreign country can be lots of fun—especially if you speak the language that is used there.
In surveys, about 20% of Americans describe themselves as bilingual compared with 56% of Europeans.
Now, researchers are discovering even more advantages to being a polyglot (see definition and hear pronunciation below).
Speaking more than one language seems to strengthen the brain’s problem-solving abilities.
