No Time to Concede Defeat!

cool-words-concede

“Winners never quit, and quitters never win.”

This is among best-known quotes from Vince Lombardi, one of the most famous professional football coaches of all time.

As the head coach for the Green Bay Packers in the 1960s, he led the team to five NFL championships and two Super Bowl Victories.

Lombardi’s ability to motivate his players to achieve their best is perhaps his greatest legacy.

If you keep on trying, he told them, then you never have to concede (see definition and hear pronunciation below) defeat!

Do You Like to Be Extolled?

extol-cool-words

Whether we’re in the classroom or on the ball field, teachers and coaches are invaluable to us.

They help us to learn new skills and improve our performance.

However, not all teachers and coaches convey their knowledge in the same way.

Some tend to focus more on what we’re doing wrong when we try a new activity.

Other teachers and coaches take a more supportive approach and extol (see definition and hear pronunciation below) our attempts, even if we still have room for improvement!

Cool word question of the day: Do you think that it’s more important to extol or to correct a person who is learning a new skill?
